Upgrade instructions (if currently using v7.09.26)
Upgrade instructions:
Replace make.pl, replace make2.pl, then run make.pl
(Not necessary to replace the templates; replacing the templates is optional).Upgrade instructions (if currently using v7.06.22 or lower)
- Sign up with InstrumentPro.com at cj.com (your old ID at MYAP will work)
- Request a new key file
- Wait to receive new key file
- Upload new key file
- Download .zip file and unzip it
- Replace make.pl, and replace make2.pl
- Replace template files. Or update your custom template files. The search form
<FORM>...</FORM> has changed.- Delete contents of data directory (e.g.: /cgi-bin/dyse/instrumentpro/data/*.*)
- Run make.pl
Revisions:
Fix: Works as a cronjob. Once again, you can run make.pl via a cronjob (scheduled task). The previous version (v7.06.26) was not using an absolute directory path and thus would not find the directory and report a fatal error. Now, an absolute path is used. And if the template directory is not found, a
non-fatal warning is issued instead.Improvement: Templates Improved for SEO. To improve SEO (search engine optimization), the templates have been revised. The side navbar column and the main body column have been flipped so that the main body column now appears on the left and the side navbar column now appears on the right. Thus in the HTML, the main body column occurs first thus improving SEO.

Critical: Works with cj.com network. Works with InstrumentPro.com's affiliate program at the cj.com affiliate network. The MYAP affiliate program stops after 30-Sep-2007.
Upgrading to this version of DySE::InstrumentPro is required.
If you do not upgrade, commissions will not be tracked to anyone. Upgrade now.

(Not necessary to replace the templates).
Critical Fix: Works with latest datafeed. InstrumentPro.com recently changed the format of their datafeed file. The new format is now recognized. You must upgrade to this version of DySE::InstrumentPro. (Advanced: MfgCat field split across multiple rows).
Fix: No affiliate ID for non-HTML links. Non-HTML files (.pdf, .gif, and .jpg) linked in the description file are no longer adjusted to contain the affiliate ID. Example,
file.pdf?source=Affiliates&kbid=ID is now just file.pdf).

Improvement: Products organized better. The products are organized better. The category structure is now the same that is used on the InstrumentPro.com website.
Improvement: Description formatted better. The product description is formatted better. More HTML formatting errors are recognized and corrected. URL of <IMG> tags are corrected. URL of <A> tags are corrected and affiliate ID added or converted to local "/go/SKU" URL.
