DySE::Audible Script Documentation

Introduction

The DySE::Audible script (make.pl) is a Perl script program that works in conjunction with the generic DySE™ viewer script (view.pl) to display products offered by Audible.com. The DySE::Audible script and the DySE™ viewer script run on your web server.

When you run the DySE::Audible script (make.pl), it downloads and processes the product datafeed file from Audible.com and creates a products database file. When a user visits your website, the DySE™ viewer script (view.pl) is run and it displays product pages, category pages, or the home page.

Installation

Important:   Requires view.pl v5.05.31 or higher The DySE::Audible requires DySE™ view.pl v5.05.31 or higher. If you have a lower version of view.pl on your server, you must upgrade it to v5.05.31 or higher. Upgrading view.pl merely involves replacing your current view.pl file with the latest view.pl. For the latest view.pl, click here. (Advanced: Required to handle {item.save} and {item.save.percent} substitutions.)

Note:   audible.pl key file is compatible with DySE::Audible If you are using our old audible.pl script, your audible.key key file is compatible with DySE::Audible.

Sample Template Sets

The following are live examples of the sample template sets that are included with the DySE::Audible script. Two groups of template sets are provided:

1. Six "Standard DySE™ template sets" that are common to most other DySE™ scripts.

2. Five "Old audible.pl template sets" similar to those used by the old audible.pl (non-DySE™) script.

You can use any of these template sets, customize a template set, or create your own.

Standard DySE™ Template Sets

These templates are common to most other DySE™ scripts. If your website contains other DySE™ stores, you might want to use one of these templates.

Old audible.pl Template Sets

These templates are similar to those used by the old audible.pl (non-DySE™) script. If you are upgrading from the old audible.pl to DySE::Audible, you may want to use one of these templates so that your website appears the same to website users.
