DySE Merchant Modules v6.04.08 — Major Update : Create Niche Stores

DySE Merchant Modules

All of the DySE Merchant Module scripts (e.g.: DySE::InstrumentPro) have been updated to the same version. Now they all have the same revisions and features. We recommend that you upgrade to the latest DySE scripts at this time.

The major new feature is Root Category Selection. This feature will allow you to create niche stores. Root Category Selection lets you specify a part of the merchant's datafeed to use for your niche store.

Root Category Selection is available in all DySE merchant modules (make.pl). For example, with DySE::InstrumentPro (musical instruments), you could create a guitars store by selecting "Guitars" as the Root Category; only the "Guitars" category (and its sub-categories) would appear in your store.

See Root Category Selection for instructions on creating niche stores using Root Category Selection.

Upgrade instructions:

  1. Download the latest DySE scripts via www.c3scripts.com/download
  2. Replace make.pl, and replace make2.pl
  3. (optional) Select a root category to create a niche store.
  4. Run make.pl

Example store with default root (entire datafeed):

EverythingInstruments.com

Example niche store with "Guitars" selected as the Root Category:

DySE::Audible v6.04.08 (Audiobooks) — New Script

Audiobooks store

We are pleased to announce the release of a new store generator script called DySE::Audible that is designed to display downloadable audiobooks based on the Audible.com datafeed.

  • Audible.com (cj.com merchant)
  • 12,000+ downloadable audiobook products
  • 12% or $15/$18 depending upon the sale type
  • 60-day cookie

Audible.com offers downloadable digital audio books, audio magazines, newspapers, radio programs and more. The products can be downloaded and listened to on an iPod, Palm Handheld, Pocket PC, Audible Otis MP3 player, a computer, or on burned CD’s.

If these types of products are a good match for your website or if you're planning to create a new website for these types of products, we encourage you to use our DySE::Audible script.

A live example website that uses DySE::Audible is www.AudiobooksPlus.com

To learn more about DySE::Audible, see www.c3scripts.com/dyse-audible

Note for audible.pl users: DySE::Audible is a new script based on our modern DySE scripting technology. It is not an update of the current audible.pl script. If you are using audible.pl, you can continue to use it but we recommend that you plan to migrate to DySE::Audible since it provides more functionality and requires less disk space. The URL's of the webpages are compatible. To migrate from audible.pl to DySE::Audible, simply install DySE::Audible.
